We are a non-profit voluntary support group. Our support group has been established by parents of children and adults who have been diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), ASD, Asperger’s, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Learning Difficulties, Behaviour, Emotional and Social difficulties (BESD), plus Special Educational Needs.
When our own children were going through the long process of assessments we felt totally isolated. We then decided a support group was needed in our area, as we could not find any help or peer support locally.
ADHD is a socially isolating condition for the child and family members. Children find it difficult to interact with their peers, lose friends easily and are often friendless. Families discover they are not invited to social events and find it difficult to build friendships.
The aim of the group is to provide support and information to anyone affected by invisible disabilities and associated conditions, through monthly meetings which are kindly held at various centres in Chorley, South Ribble, Preston or anywhere we are invited in Lancashire. You do not need a confirmed diagnosis to attend any of our meetings.
We all understand how isolating this journey can be, by joining our support group you can talk to others who can understand your situation”. We also have a Private Facebook Group you can join HERE
