We are a non-profit voluntary community support group. Our support group has been established by parents of children who have been diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), associated conditions and Special Educational Needs.  

When our own children were going through the long process of assessments we felt totally isolated. We decided a support group was needed in our area, as we could not find any help or support locally.

ADHD is a socially isolating condition for the child and family members. Children find it difficult to interact with their peers, lose friends easily and are often friendless. Families discover they are not invited to social events and find it difficult to build friendships.

The aim of the group is to provide help and support to anyone effected by ADHD/ADD and associated conditions, through monthly meetings which are kindly held at Preston and Chorley & South Ribble Carers Centre. You do not have to have a confirmed diagnosis to attend any of our meetings.

We are also hiring Cheeky Monkeys (indoor play activity centre) in Whittle-le-Woods, Chorley once a month starting with our launch night on the 8th Feb 2012. This is for the sole use of children with ADHD, associated conditions and their siblings/family. Whilst here, they will not be considered “different” or “difficult”. Parents although still responsible for their children will enjoy a small amount of respite in a relaxed environment. You can meet other families, listen to guest speakers, and take home relevant information/literature.
